Facial anyone? If you are in the market for treating yourself (which you should) to a facial, do yourself a favor and go see Ann Loggings from Lighten Up and Face It! I had the great fortune of winning a facial with Ann, at one of Urban Gypsy’s Trunk Shows.

I had previously known Ann before receiving the facial, and for some odd reason never knew this is what she did for a living. After knowing her, this makes perfect sense. She is a very spiritual, and intuitive woman with a beautiful talent. And to boot, she uses a mostly raw vegan skincare line. Right up my alley! I was in heaven! Ann put countless products on my face, each one smelling better than the next, each one feeling so invigorating. My skin felt so alive, as if it were previously in a deep sleep. She tapped into what what going on with me on an energetic, emotional and physical level. Things most people don’t express while giving you a facial.

Ann is so many things wrapped into one, making an experience with her, one not to forget and having you ready to schedule the next journey on her table! Read my interview with this fabulous woman below.
Hi Ann! Thank you so much for doing this interview. Tell us a little bit about your lovely self.
Hi Tara..thanks. I’m a 43 year old mother of two teenagers and have been an esthetician for over six years. I absolutely love being an esthetician because I get to help people with their skin. When your skin looks good, you feel good about yourself and that is really important. At first, I worked in other salons and I found it really hard recommending products containing unhealthy ingredients. That is where Lighten Up & Face It came into being. I wanted to create a healing loving environment, for people to relax and refresh, and also offer quality effective organic products.
What kind of services do you offer at Lighten Up & Face it?
I do organic facial treatments for normal, oily, combination and sensitive skin types. Facials are intuitively customized to each client. Common issues that I treat include – aging, acne, rosacea and hyperpigmentation. I also do microdermabrasion, body wraps and intuitive energy healings. Intuitive energy sessions include balancing the chakras and clearing blocks on the different layers of the energy field. These blocks can be physical, emotional, mental and spiritual in nature. I like to approach wellness using total mind, body and spirit modalities.
What inspired you to do this kind of work?
When I was a teenager I had some pretty awful acne. Even though I went to a doctor for treatment (lovely antibiotics), I felt like no one could tell me what products to use, and how to work on it myself to heal it. What causes it? I found that there are many different reasons depending on where and what type of acne it is. I want to help other people learn how to properly care for their skin without putting unnecessary toxins and chemicals in and on their bodies. I believe that skin issues are messages from your body. It’s all about listening to what your body is trying to tell you.
How do you tap into people’s energy while working on them? Was this a gift you always had?
Breathing and grounding is very important to being able to feel other people’s energy. I believe everyone has intuitive gifts that can be developed with practice. That is what I have done; practiced a lot and I have learned to trust it.
(Myself) Living a mostly raw, vegan lifestyle, I was really impressed with the Skincare that you used. Can you tell us a little bit about it?
The product line I use is Eminence Organic Skin Care. It is a Hungarian spa line that is just fabulous. And, it just so happens to be raw and vegan! The ingredients are all organically grown, fresh fruits and plants. They are packed full of nutrition for you and your skin, including – vitamins, antioxidants, minerals, bioflavonoids and polyphenols.
Do you have to refrigerate the products to stay fresh?
No you don’t. Because there is no added water, a chemical preservative is not needed. Vitamin E is a natural preservative that is an ingredient in all the Eminence line. This helps keep your products fresh for 12-18 months without refrigeration.
Can we purchase these products at your spa?
Of course…just call me or email me – 704-363-3067 [email protected]
Are there any pointers you have for people, on taking care of their skin? Where do you see people lack in this area?
After a long day of work, what do you do to ground yourself? As to not take in everyone else’s energy?
Clearing energy can easily be done with intention. After a long day of work, I
like to just sit and breathe. Meditation is also great to center and ground oneself.
Thank you again for sharing this moment with us, Ann. Is there anything you would like to end this interview with?
YES! PEACE AND LOVE!!!!!

Beauty From Love: “I am worthy of a spa day. My body deserves the attention and love.”
Love, Light, Laughter & Luffa,
Tara 🙂
Thank you for this inspiring article! I’m an esthetician too and I have a similar issue of wanting to nourish my clients’ skin, yet having access to products that contain chemicals.
I figure for now, I will love them up and that will counteract the effects of the chemicals 🙂
Thank you Ann and Tara!
Much love,
Angela
